Keyword Difficulty (KD)

A metric associated with keywords, used in prioritization and visualization.

Keyword Difficulty is a metric representing the perceived challenge of ranking organically for a specific keyword. It is one of the traditional metrics used in the initial evaluation and prioritization stage of keyword research. In semantic research, KD is used alongside Search Volume and Search Intent to determine the actual opportunity within the keyword universe, allowing for strategic prioritization of high-value terms that might have lower competition.
